Today is April 30
looked at each other, panicked, cried
I cry, you cry, we cry
a country torn ragged

you’re right my dear, today is April 30bo xu
please give me a little burn incense to pray
I cry, you cry, we cry
kneel down  and pray for our people and our homeland

this day war ends but full of tears. bloods and death
a peaceful day that much mourning
why our homeland upside down
do you see that a father just lost his son
do you see that an innocence kid just lost his mom
do you see that a man just lost his spouse and children
I cry, you cry, we cry

do you see that the last helicopter taking off
from the roof of the US Embassy

do you see that thousands of innocence people
bury themselves into the vast ocean

Oh My God, this day, April 30
the day with a new historical chapter
for all Vietnamese
the day, forever lost
I cry, you cry, we cry

you’re right my dear, today is April 30, 1975
the beginning of our lives in exile
hopeless, lost …

(oh my dear unborn baby,
you weren’t born yet
but you already lost your homeland)

here is the yellow flag with three red stripes
let’s hang it on the wall to remember my dear
that we are South Vietnamese
in exile from now ’til the last breath on earth
I cried, you cried, homeland cried

Oh my Vietnam
My Vietnam
mine
mine …
April 30, 1975
weep, shocked, lost, hatred …
